Heel strike or midfoot strike?

Brea 8k Feb 2010Will be interested in hearing your views on “correct” running form. I am a heel-striker..and havent had any problems so far. However I hear midfoot-striking makes the runner less injury-prone, and is efficient. I tried to switch my gait and ended up with sore and tight calves. Heel-struck all the way today in Seal Beach 10k, and finished in an hour. Not the greatest of paces, but I felt good.
