Ran my first race outside the United States. Great running weather in Vancouver. Created personal record. Ran a sub-2 hour race. I might have found the best running shoes for me. Brooks Ghost 3. Here is a picture from the race.
Ran this race on memorial day (May 31, 2010) in sweltering 85 degrees heat, with my son Sravisht Iyer. Saw a number of people needing medical attention. Ran a slow race. Here are a couple of pictures from the race.
About me
I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
