San Francisco Marathon, July 31, 2011
Ran Marathon # 8 for the year. Carlsbad, Tokyo, LA, London, OC, San Diego, Gold Coast (Australia), and now San Francisco. 4 more to go to reach the goal of 12 full marathons for the year (plus 6 half-marathons). Berlin, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Las Vegas remain. San Francisco is not exactly a course for the faint-hearted. I ran a consistent pace throughout the 26.2 miles. I really didnt expect a PR with all the hills. San Francisco weather was awesome – not much fog, and not cold either with the 5.30 am start time.

About me
I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
