Disneyland Half-Marathon, Sep 4, 2011
Dark and early start at 6 am – with 12000 other runners – including Drew Carey. Race started from inside the Disneyland Theme Park, and ran through all the park attractions, with Disney characters high-fiving the runners. The race then went through a few boring Anaheim streets, before entering Angel Stadium. Rounding the bases inside the stadium was a nice feeling. The race finished back at the park. I ran a decent race. Could have pushed myself more. Finished in sub-2 hour time. This was my 6th half-marathon for the year, and with 8 marathons thus far, this was race number 14 for 2011.

I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
