Chicago Marathon, Oct 9, 2011
Ran the Chicago Marathon 2011. This was my second Chicago Marathon. Any avid or aspiring marathoner should run this race. Great crowd support, very well-organized, and plenty of aid stations. Flat course – and to top it all – what a great weather this year. I learned that a North Carolina fire fighter lost his life 500 yards from the finish line – cardiac arrest. Tragic.
I ran the race with my son Visraant, who ran a much faster race (and beat me by a comfortable margin). Next up – Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. at the end of this month.

About me
I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
