Disneyworld Marathon, Orlando, FL, Jan 8, 2012
First Marathon for this year. Great race to run. The entire course runs through all Disney Theme Parks – Starts at Epcot, and runs through Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios before finishing at Epcot. Volunteer age bracket was conspicuously in the 70s and 80s – but they were cheering like crazy. Race was very well-organized and the finisher medal was one of the best I have collected so far. This year’s goal is to run in as many different states as possible and a few ultra marathons. Let us see how it goes. Next up is Lakefront Half-Marathon in Chicago at the end of this month.

About me
I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
