First night-time Marathon. The strip was shutdown for a few hours in the evening / night for the 44000 runners – 39000 of them running the half. Crowd support was very sparse. Ran Philadelphia Marathon under perfect running weather. Great course – each of the 26.2 miles ran thru scenic spots of Philly. Started and finished near the flight of stairs made famous by Rocky. One more to go for the year to make it 12 marathons in 2011.
Ran Marathon # 10 for the year. Cold start to the race, but sunny with light breeze throughout. Perfect for running. I love this race. Great organization, very enthusiastic crowd along the way. Two more races to go this year. Philadelphia and Las Vegas.

Dark and early start at 6 am – with 12000 other runners – including Drew Carey. About me
I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
