spam refers to the mass sending of an e-mail or newsgroup
posting to a large number of people who would otherwise
not be interested in seeing the letter or post, spew is
when you're on a newgroup or in a chat room and one of
the participants goes on and on about something and/or
types the same thing repeatedly.

program that prowls the Internet, attempting to locate
new, publicly accessible resources such as WWW documents,
files available in public FTP archives, and Gopher
documents. Popular search engines employ these programs.

- stack -In
the context of TCP / IP, a series of protocol and drivers
required to interface a desktop computer with the
Internet.
- storyboard
-Visual aid used in pre productions of movies
(especially for commercials, when the concept has to be
explained to many non-technical people) that lays out the
visual treatment as a series of sketch panels accompanied
by plot notes. Now also used by meticulous Web authors
for site planning (especially when they need to explain
the concept to inexperienced colleague or clients).
- string -In
computerese, any sequence of characters. "Desktop /
412" is a string. So is "u668_counter %".
Basically, any variable used by the computer that cannot
be evaluated numerically is a string.
- style sheet
-Text file that defines stylistic elements of a
series of HTML files, such as fonts, colors, and so on.
"Official" HTML prefers this way of defining
Web style rather than by the use of tags such as
<FONT> and attributes such as BGCOLOR. A style
sheet may be referenced by an unlimited number of HTML
files.
