8th consecutive Chicago Marathon….but more importantly, this was Marathon number 100 !!!! Yes. I know the gory visual effects of chafing was completely avoidable.
This was my seventh consecutive Bank of America Chicago Marathon. After running Marathons all over the world and in all the 50 states, I am absolutely certain that Chicago is the best Marathon in the world – in terms of runner-friendly amenities, organization, crowd support, post-race party, course, etc.

Another race in what might potentially become annual ritual for me in Chicago. Â Unlike last year, this time the organization absolutely awful. The expo was a total disaster with long lines and absolute chaos. There wasn’t enough water stations despite the predicted hot weather on race day. Annual ritual. I love this race for the route and the crowd support. Finished the race before it got too hot – but saw quite a few people collapsing in heat already. Thanks to a nagging plantar faciitis decided to drop out of the 78K Swiss Alpine Ultra Marathon on July 27th. Hoping I can run next year. I was so looking forward to it this year.
Ran Chitown Half-Marathon – alongÂ Chicago Lakefront TrailÂ andÂ Lincoln Park Chicago. What a gorgeous day to run. Days like this make it worth living in Chicago and make up for the winter months. Not a personal best time but finished the 13.1 miles under 2 hours.
