Annual ritual…The course covers many parts of the city…including my work neighborhood..Heat and humidity didn’t help with the time, but I stopped tracking my finish time many races ago.
Annual Labor Day ritual – to run 13.1 miles (Oakbrook Half Marathon) through my neighborhood. Hot humid trail running. Race number 15 for the year. Goal of 14 in 14 done…Not hanging it up for the year yet…Let’s see how far my knees can hold up without necessitating a visit to an ortho.Continue Reading →
After deciding at the last minute to change from a full marathon to a half, I ran a good race. What a gorgeous course and city !! Easily one of my top favorites just for the city and its awesome people. The weather couldn’t have been better for running. My son Chevy ran the race with me. Vacation + Half-Marathon in Iceland !! Life is good.[youtube nsYdV8QTE6Y nolink]

Annual ritual. I love this race for the route and the crowd support. Finished the race before it got too hot – but saw quite a few people collapsing in heat already. Thanks to a nagging plantar faciitis decided to drop out of the 78K Swiss Alpine Ultra Marathon on July 27th. Hoping I can run next year. I was so looking forward to it this year.
Ran Chitown Half-Marathon – along Chicago Lakefront Trail and Lincoln Park Chicago. What a gorgeous day to run. Days like this make it worth living in Chicago and make up for the winter months. Not a personal best time but finished the 13.1 miles under 2 hours.
Goal of 13 in 13 completed (10 marathons + 3 half-marathons) with yesterday’s running of a Half-Marathon in Schaumburg IL with my son Visraant. Â One more marathon to go next weekend in warm and humid Honolulu. Family vacation plus marathon with the boys Sravisht and Visraant.Continue Reading →
