Los Angeles Marathon, March 18, 2012
Contrary to awful forecast, the weather turned out to be picture-perfect. Ran a good race, and made personal best time – 3:46. Crowd support was excellent – thanks to the wonderful weather. Finish line arrangements were very well organized, unlike last year. All in all, a great experience. After the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago next…
One of the most awful marathons – weather-wise. Drenched throughout the 26.2 miles….and after the race was almost certain I was going into hypothermia. Miserable…but the time wasnt shabby. Made PR…so felt nice. Ran with my son Visraant, who ran his first marathon. Felt super-thrilled for him. Here are some pictures from the event.
About me
I am Mohan Iyer, once a couch-hog but a recent convert to the community of runners. My wife and I live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA, with our dog Wrigley.
We have two sons – Sravisht “Chevy” Iyer, and Visraant “Visu” Iyer. The elder one is a Doctor from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and is an Orthopedic Surgery resident at Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, and the younger one is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), Illinois (class of 2012). Sravisht completed his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore in 2007.
I am a graduate (M.S.) in Computer Science from Depaul University, Chicago, and my wife has a post-graduate degree in Economics from University of Madras, India.
My career profile includes management roles in IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Wachovia Securities. I am currently in a senior IT management role in a large investment management company in Irvine, California. My wife works for Chase (Bank) in the OC area.
