AFC (America’s Finest City) Half-Marathon, San Diego, CA – Aug 21, 2011

Very well organized race. All runners  – nearly 7000 of them – were transported to Cabrillo National Monument by 6.30 am for the 7 am start. Very scenic course, despite the fact that the course runs along many city streets. Great San Diego weather – perfect for running. I didnt realize I was chafing pretty badly until the photographer at the finish line pointed out the blood spot on my T-shirt. Didnt know chafing can be painless and graphic. I ...

Rock n Roll Marathon, San Diego, CA, June 5, 2011

Ran the full marathon in San Diego on Sunday, June 5th. Well organized race with a lot of volunteer support, local bands, and cheer leaders. Not a world class course, but not boring either. Not a tough course either, with a few hills and mostly flat. Made PR. Getting closer and closer to qualify for Boston.  Felt strong after the race, with no pain whatsoever – almost suspiciously painless.  May be I could have pushed myself harder.
